Evening primrose oil

(oenothera biennis- botanic name) is a beautiful plant that is often considered a weed in gardens. It flourishes in temperate regions all over North America, Europe, and many other places throughout the world, but it is most commonly grown and used in Canada and America. Europeans were one of the first to make it popular. They brought it back to their native soil and crowned this oil a “King’s cure-all” because of its many useful properties that can cure a large number of diseases. Evening primrose can be up to eight feet in height, and it has beautiful blossoms. The plant blooms all throughout the summer, but each blossom lasts only one day. It blooms as the sun sets and then withers in the sunlight, which is why it is called “evening primrose.” The seeds are about 5 cm long and are crushed to manufacture the oil that is used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

Gamma- Linoleic Acid (GLA)

NG4L Evening primrose oil contains substantial amounts of polysaturated omega-6 fatty acids, essential fatty acids (EFAs). Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is an essential fatty acid (EFA) in the omega-6 family that is found primarily in plant-based oils. EFAs are essential to human health but cannot be made in the body. For this reason, they must be obtained from food. EFAs are needed for normal brain function, growth and development, bone health, stimulation of skin and hair growth, regulation of metabolism, and maintenance of reproductive processes. Linoleic acid (LA), another omega-6 fatty acid, is found in cooking oils and processed foods and converted to GLA in the body. Linoleic acid helps the body utilize insulin, maintains weight, and fights cancer and heart disease. GLA is available directly from evening primrose oil (EPO). Most of these oils also contain some linoleic acid.

Female Health

Evening primrose oil is best known for its ability to ease symptoms of several female problems, including pre-menstrual syndrome, endometriosis and fibrocystic breasts. During menstruation, the body releases the inflammatory kind of prostaglandins. But by interfering with the production of these prostaglandins, the GLA in evening primrose oil may help alleviate menstrual cramps. Because some women with PMS have trouble converting linoleic acid into GLA, they may benefit from the added GLA in evening primrose oil. Sufferers of PMS have been found to have decreased levels of GLA, and this may explain the effectiveness of evening primrose oil in treating PMS symptoms. The supplement may also lessen pre-menstrual breast tenderness, and the fatty acids contained in evening primrose oil are believed to reduce breast inflammation for women suffering from fibrocystic breasts. It is also thought to aid in the absorption of iodine, which is often decreased in women suffering from this condition.

Increase Female Fertility

There are many remedies out there to help with fertility, but few are as good as NG4L Evening Primrose. Evening Primrose Oil increases the fertile type cervical fluid also known as “egg white cervical mucus.” This is because fertile cervical fluid is thin, watery, clear and “stretchy” and easily aids the sperm to swim through the uterus and into the fallopian tube, and to the egg. If there is a lack in this type of cervical fluid, it can impede and/or prevent fertilization. Some women are very dry, and have problems in producing an adequate amount of fertile quality cervical fluid. This may take a month or two to build up, and produce the results you are looking for. It is imperative that you chart your fertility symptoms and signs, so you can know when you have ovulated. By knowing this information, you can discontinue the Evening Primrose Oil after ovulation and start taking flax seed oil. Unless you are very regular, charting your fertility signs is the best tool to determine where you are in your cycle.

-Arthritis

NG4L Evening primrose oil has also shown promises as a treatment for rheumatoid arthritis a condition that is chronic, painful and in severe cases disfiguring. It can inhibit movement and cause the joints and hands to become misshapen, but evening primrose oil relieves some of the symptoms. The oil has been found to reduce the joint pain and swelling associated with this condition, and seems to help control inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis patients.

-Skin Dermatosis

People with eczema also find relief from NG4LEvening primrose oil supplements. Eczema develops from a variety of causes, sometimes due to problems metabolizing fatty acids. Because these sufferers cannot convert dietary fats into GLA, they may benefit from NG4L Evening primrose oil supplementation to help provide the GLA they lack. The supplement alleviates the many symptoms of eczema, including itching, dryness, and inflammation, oozing and flaking. For this condition, NG4L Evening primrose oil can be taken orally or applied as a topical cream.

Evening primrose oil has garnered widespread attention as a treatment for both acne and rosacea. It’s essential fatty acids help to dilute sebum, a thick, oily substance secreted by the skin, excessively so by some acne sufferers. Because of this, it may reduce the likelihood of clogged pores and lesions on the skin. The essential fatty acids can also help rosacea sufferers, because they reduce inflammation, control how cells utilize nutrients and encourage the production of the beneficial kind of prostaglandins, which promote the contraction of blood vessels.

Diabetes/complications

NG4L Evening primrose oil has been shown to help the body utilize insulin, prevents and even reverses symptoms of diabetic neuropathy, a debilitating form of nerve damage suffered by many diabetics. The supplement appears to reduce the numbness, tingling and loss of feeling suffered by patients with this condition.

Degenerative Diseases

Dementia and Alzheimer’s patients may also benefit from taking NG4L Evening primrose oil. The supplement is thought to aid and strengthen nerve impulses, thereby repairing some of the memory loss associated with these disorders.

Alcoholism/Detoxification

It is also valuable for people suffering from alcoholism, especially in alleviating withdrawal symptoms like depression and seizures when they stop drinking. The GLA in NG4L Evening primrose oil promotes the production of prostaglandin E, which protects the liver and nervous system and also lessens the damage caused by alcoholism. NG4L Evening primrose oil appears to help repair both the memory and motor-visual coordination, counteracting some of the effects alcohol has on the brain.
